Ok – First of all, in case anybody is wondering…. I’m having way too much fun! Moving down to Fort Mill, SC from Two Harbors, MN has invigorated by passion for Internet Marketing and SEO. With my former business, Premier Spot iMarketing, I was bogged down in the management of running a small firm. After the sale of the business I was able to take a step back and really think about what I wanted to do.

I decided I wanted to be an Internet Marketing Consultant for small to mid-sized businesses and I wanted to find a way to channel some of my offline passions into online money making opportunities. Well… I have a handful of wonderful clients that are seeing wonderful improvements in the search engines. So that is good, check.

Next, how can I channel some of my “passions” into money making opportunities? Still trying to figure this one out. But, in my pursuit of happiness I met this guy (Jon Payne) that showed me the power of exact-match domains. I started looking at what people were searching for and then I tried to correspond it to a domain name that is available. I found a couple to “try out” my theory. These domains have over 500 exact match searches each month. Competition was moderate to low for the domains so I figured I could get the #1 ranking over the next month or so. That would translate into 200+ visitors each month. Not a lot, but I’m not trying to get rich, I’m trying to see if this works. So I signed up with Click Bank to be an affiliate and sell a product that looks wonderful (don’t they all) and that is being sold by another 200 people. Not the ultimate, but I’m just dangling my toes in the water.

So at this point we need to send some links over to my new domains. So please forgive the shameless plug and remember these domains aren’t my passion, but are the 1st steps to greatness or a loss of $20.30 and a few hours of time. http://howtopassakidneystone.com (How to Pass a Kidney Stone) and http://howtomakeaquilt.net (How to Make a Quilt) both receive 500+ exact-match domain searches each month.

I couldn’t stop there, I started having way too much fun. Did you know “Fort Mill Apartments” receives about 1,300 searches each month? I figure there has to be a way to monetize that one. I’ll get the link up once I have the website up.

And finally, back to Mr. Payne who has inspired my new found craziness. He registered FortMillSEO.com as he owns the “other” SEO firm in Fort Mill. If there are others they are flying under the radar. I’ve been asking the question, what about the .Net? Does the .net or .org Exact-Match Domains give off the same power for the search engines? It seems the consensus is that the .com is better, but not quite sure. So I went ahead and purchased FortMillSEO.net. Not that I’m going to get any business off of it, but for testing purposes to see where it ranks with very little work and a couple of links. Over the next few weeks I’ll probably have a number of blog postings introducing some of my new found friends (domains). Some will be for me and others will be for my clients.
